Crews achieved 100% containment of the Big Rusty Wildfire near Bancroft Lane and Cove Court at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, two days after flames erupted.

While no evacuations were required, residents are advised that smoke may linger in the area until significant rainfall occurs.

Firefighters and emergency vehicles could be seen battling the flames in photos shared by the Forest Fire Service, showing the intense effort to protect nearby homes and control the fire.

Crews will remain on-site in the coming days to reinforce containment lines and address any flare-ups to ensure public safety.

All affected roads, including Bancroft Lane, Cove Court, and Wharton Place, have since reopened.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and officials have stated this will be the final update unless there are significant developments.
